49ers Bringing Back Recently Released Veteran Safety

The 49ers Waive Safety While Bringing Back Tight End Logan Thomas

Veteran Tight End Logan Thomas Returns to the 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers have added depth to their roster with the return of veteran tight end Logan Thomas.

Thomas, who played quarterback at Virginia Tech before switching to tight end in the NFL, has spent the last two seasons with the Arizona Cardinals.

The 49ers waived safety Tyrion Davis-Price to make room for Thomas.

Thomas Adds Depth to 49ers Roster

Thomas's return gives the 49ers a veteran presence at tight end, a position that has been a question mark for the team in recent years.

The 49ers released veteran running back Matt Breida earlier this week, so adding depth at tight end could be key to filling out their roster.

The 49ers also agreed to terms with veteran safety Logan Ryan, which could help fill the void left by the departure of Jaquiski Tartt.
