One Man Dead After Argument Ends in Gunfire

Man Jailed in Connection with Far North Dallas Slaying

DENTON, Texas (May 9, 2023) - One man is dead after Dallas police said an argument ended in gunfire early Saturday morning. The shooting happened at about 1:30 a.m. at a residence in the 3600 block of WEB Dallas. During their preliminary investigation, officers determined the victim, 50-year-old Chance Domel Harris, had been shot. Harris was taken to a hospital by a private vehicle, police said. He died there from his injuries. Bobby Johnson, 36, was booked into the Denton County jail May 9 on a murder charge. On Oct. 11, 2016, the State of Texas filed a Family - Minor Custody lawsuit against Chance Harris. This case was filed in Dallas County District Courts Dallas. The investigation is ongoing.
